The structure of DNA is a double helix

DNA is like the paper for a text written with the 4 letters A, T, C and G. The structure of DNA is a double helix, where Adenine pairs with Thymine and Cytosine pairs with Guanine. This knowledge started the molecular biology revolution (1953). Today many biologists do 'sequencing', i.e. read DNA sequences, routinely. For detail on this molecule see http://www.imb-jena.de/cgi-bin/ImgLib.pl?CODE=1bna.
