In order to facilitate a much requested German translation, new software was installed. Now the actual translation work can begin.

This latest achievement was made possible by installing LinguaPlone, the internationalization solution for Plone, which is the software that manages the content on evolutionary-research.net. The wait has been long, but the capabilities of Plone 3 in combination with LinguaPlone have certainly been worth it. A big thank you to Oxfam the international aid charity for sponsoring the initial development of LinguaPlone.
Now that the technical infrastructure is in place, the work of translating can begin. It will take some time until everything is brought up to speed. At the same time the existing content will be revisited in order to finally migrate everything from the old legacy sites to the new site.
